BRAZILIAN HEALTH AUTHORITY INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRAVELLERS TO BRAZIL

It is recommended that visitors travelling to the following States in Brazil: Acre, Amazonas, Amapá. Macapá, Roraima, Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás, Distrito Federal and Brasília, be vaccinated against Yellow Fever. Those interested should be vaccinated 10 days prior to arriving at the above-mentioned affected areas. The Yellow Fever vaccination is effective and valid for 10 years. If your trip originates in Canada and is on a direct flight to Brazil, the vaccination is not obligatory but is highly recommended.

In case you do not find the desired information here, you have the following options:

a) send a letter to the Consulate General of Brazil in Montreal (1, Westmount Square, Suite 1700, Montreal, QC – H3Z 2P9), together with a prepaid self-addressed Xpresspost envelope from Canada Post, for a reply;

• THE CONSULATE GENERAL RESERVES THE RIGHT NOT TO ENDORSE SOILED, DAMAGED OR DEFACED PASSPORTS.

• WE DO NOT PHOTOCOPY DOCUMENTS. WE KEEP ALL THE DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED EXCEPT FOR THE PASSPORT. THEREFORE, YOU MUST PROVIDE US WITH PHOTOCOPIES.

• IF YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION BY MAIL, PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ONLY ENVELOPE THAT WE ACCEPT FOR THE RETURN IS CANADA POST XPRESSPOST. SUCH SECURITY MEASURE IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE WILL BE SENDING YOU YOUR ORIGINAL PASSPORT.
